Can Blue Light Affect Your Skin Health?
Can blue light affect your skin health?
Blue light, also known as HEV light, is emitted by the sun and electronic devices. It has a wavelength range of 380 nm to 500 nm, which is slightly longer than UVA light but overlaps with it. Skin experts suggest that the 400–450 nm range of HEV light may cause more skin damage. Common devices we use every day such as televisions, computer monitors, fluorescent bulbs, smart phones, and at-home acne treatment lights also emit HEV light. |

Studies show that blue light may penetrate the skin, produce free radicals, and break down collagen. In people with darker skin tones, excessive exposure to blue light may also darken hyperpigmentation.
How can we protect our skin from HEV light?

Always remember to put on your physical sunscreen Especially sunscreen which consists of Zinc Oxide! Just like Invisible Physical Defense SPF30. Zinc Oxide is a weapon for us to shield our skin from the Ultraviolet rays. Skin is exposed to sunlight and technological devices both indoors and outdoors. Hence, it is also important to supplement your skin with antioxidants like Matcha Green Tea. These antioxidants are able to damage the free radicals emitted from blue light. |
Use screen protector There seems to be no way to reduce your screen exposure time because majority of us are used to work with electronic devices. The good news is that you may use screen protectors to prevent blue light and lessen its damaging harmful effects on your skin. Alternatively, you can reduce your device's brightness or switch to night mode at night to reduce the emission of blue light. |

Include antioxidants in your diet! Colorful foods are rich in antioxidants such as vitamins A, C, D, and E, which protect cells from damage caused by blue light's free radicals. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, herbs, spices, and cocoa are plant-based sources of antioxidants. VitalZyme, offers a blend of up to 126 fruits and plants with doubleNUTRI® technology to provide you with a better bio-availability of potent antioxidants, organic acids, and phytonutrients for better absorption. |
